Proposed Sutherland Avenue Bikeway

North Winnipeg C.C. member Kevin Bailey created this record of the proposed Sutherland Avenue Bikeway (north from Powers Street to Main Street), with photo highlights of destinations and points of interest along the way. With good pavement and only a single stop between Powers Street and Main Street, Sutherland Avenue could easily be utilized as an effective north/south bikeway. Here’s what we encounter during this nearly non-stop ride along Sutherland Avenue:

From Powers Street, we head east along the rail yards, passing under the north foot of the Slaw Rebchuk Bridge.

There is no stop for us at the intersection with Aikens Street. There is a schoolyard on the northwest corner.

The King Street intersection brings a four-way stop.

There is a stop sign at Main Street. Currently we cannot travel north from this intersection.
