Proposed Pritchard Avenue Bikeway Highlights
North Winnipeg C.C. member Kevin Bailey created this record of the proposed Pritchard Avenue Bikeway (west from Main Street to Powers Street), with photo highlights of destinations and points of interest along the way.
Pritchard Avenue serves as an excellent connection between Main Street (Higgins underpass), Salter Street (Slaw Rebchuk Bridge) and the proposed Powers Avenue Bikeway, helping to connect Winnipeg’s northwest quadrant to the rest of the city. In addition to its strategic importance in city-wide cycling network, Pritchard Avenue is home to a number of community resources.
Travelling just the short distance from Main Street to Powers Street, we see the following along Pritchard Avenue:

At its intersection with Main Street, we can already see that Pritchard Avenue is not a major automobile thoroughfare.

Union Gospel Mission’s Family Life Centre is at 240 Pritchard Avenue. Their educational centre is right next door.

We have a two-way stop at Charles Street and can see Pritchard Park just across the intersection.

Aikins Street brings another two-way stop for us.

Holy Ghost Parish Centre and School are on the southeast corner. The Native Addictions Centre is just past the two-way stop at Salter Street.

We have a four-way stop at Powers Street. William Whyte School is only one block to the north.
